Seventeen journalists picked for 2013 Fellowship

Monday, January 21st, 2013

From more than 230 applicants, the Asia Journalism Fellowship has chosen 17 journalists to take part in this year’s programme. They come from newspapers, magazines, television stations and news agencies in 14 countries. This year’s programme, again supported by Temasek Foundation and Nanyang Technological University, is the fifth in an annual series that began in 2009.

“We were very happy to receive a record number of applications for 2013 and wish we could have picked more,” said Associate Professor Cherian George, who heads the programme. “We are also thankful that so many employers see the value of giving their journalists time out to participate in our programme. Most gratifying of all is that our past Fellows are doing their part as AJF ambassadors, helping to spread the word about our programme.”

To sustain the network, alumni are being invited to attend AJF Connect, a special three-day programme at NTU (25-28 April) that will combine networking with seminars on professional issues and developments in Singapore and Asia. The 2013 Fellowship programme commences on 25 February.
