*ASIA JOURNALISM FELLOWSHIP 2026, APPLICATIONS OPEN

Application period begins on Friday, 24 April 2026.

We are pleased to announce that the Asia Journalism Fellowship (AJF) 2026 is now open for applications. AJF 2026 runs for eight weeks, from 6 July to 28 August 2026. The first four weeks will be conducted online, followed by four weeks in Singapore.

Before you apply, please take a moment to review the eligibility criteria here.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The application deadline is Wednesday, 20 May 2026.

All application materials including reference letters, must be received by then.

HOW TO APPLY

The selection process is highly competitive, so please follow the instructions carefully and submit a complete application.

Your application is complete when we receive all of the following:

i. Completed Application Form. (Download Application Form)

ii. If you are currently employed, please include your employer’s letter of support certifying that you will be permitted to:

• attend the programme online for four weeks (Online activities will be held at least twice a week on weekdays, for up to three hours), and
• be released from work for four weeks to travel to Singapore

iii. Three letters of recommendation. (Download Instructions for Referees)

• Please choose referees who know your work well and can write about you independently 

iv. Three to five samples of past work

v. A 500-word personal statement (See for prompts)

vi. A short video clip (1-3 mins) on why you are applying for AJF (See instruction for video format)

vii. Copies of all relevant educational certificate(s)

vii. Completed Personal Data Protection Act Form.

SELECTION PROCESS

A selection panel comprising mainly senior journalists and academics will review all applications and select the AJF 2026 Fellows.

RESULTS

Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome by mid-June 2026. Please ensure that you remain contactable during this period.
